These statements are called Community Recognition Statements and they predominantly recognise contributions to the local community or honour personal achievements (e.g. sporting or academic awards etc).

Acknowledgement of Country

I Acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands and recognise their continuing connection to the lands, waters, and communities that surround us. I pay my respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders Past and Present.

The Londonderry Electorate lies on the lands of the of the Dharug people – the traditional custodians of these lands on which we meet, work, and play.
